Gtx 760

Impressed by the benchmarks. Very nice card for $250. With a decent overclock, you are looking close to GTX 680 performance. Two of these bad boys @ $500 would be a potent combo for the price.

ASUS DC II.

I don't like MSI fan solution,

Why? Its performance and noise levels are better than GTX680/770 Lightning.

The MSI gaming is uber quiet and runs just 1*C hotter than the Asus DCUII model

Overall, very nice performance for a $250-260 GPU. This is good card to act as a stop-gap between now and 20nm GPUs for anyone who waited this long to get a 28nm GPU.

Just curious as far as driver support for both MSI and Asus are? MSI and Asus driver has the latest driver listed as 320.08 while EVGA latest driver is listed at 320.18.
(The only graphics cards ive ever owned have all been by EVGA so i have no experience with other cards)

Didn't you absolutely love the 7950 OC'd? What makes you suggest this over the 7950? The 7950 costs a marginal amount more for 3 free games and far, faaar better overclockability.

I just bought a pair of 770 4GB models, but yes, the 760 is very impressive for a midrange card. It's great that NVidia decided to go with a 256 bit bus again this time, so the card won't crap out as higher resolutions and detail like the GTX 660 did with it's 192 bit bus.

Check Newegg. They have a lot in stock..

Thanks, yeah, I'm looking them over right now. Just mentioned the Amazon thing for anyone like myself who has Prime.

Debating probably between the EVGA superclocked (maybe with the custom cooler) or the Gigabyte overclocked, not really sure.

I have a Prime account with Amazon, but I bought my 770 4GB cards from Newegg because I didn't have to pay taxes :whiste:

One thing you can do is get a 30 day trial membership of their free 2 day shipping, then just cancel it unless you plan on buying all your stuff from newegg ..

imo nearly all enthusiasts who overclock have already purchased the 7950 since it has been floating at $280-300 for the last 12 months literally. Therefore, whoever is left is someone who doesn't overclock and cares about price the most. Why else did they wait an entire year to not buy a 7950? Without rebates, the 760 is cheaper and provides performance just a hair under the 670. This card is going to sell like hot cakes since it's a perfect replacement for GTX460/560/560Ti for those who don't overclock and don't want rebates.

If you look at it from those type of user's point of view, you are getting near GTX670 level of performance for $250-260.

For non-overclockers, this is a great deal since 670 was $399 on May 2012.

7950 obviously pulls WAY ahead once OC'd, but even at stock a 7950 Boost is tying and still comes with free games. Nvidia didn't beat the 7950, they just finally managed to tie with it... I guess for the folks who prefer Nvidia exclusively this is a better deal. Just wish Nvidia could have pushed for a bit more for a bit less.

That's not what the AnandTech review shows. Interesting how Hardware Canucks does show it having tied though.

So which one should I get? haha :|

Did you pay attention to the settings Anand used?
Does FXAA ring a bell?

I have always stated that benchmarks are like car loan applications, you better read the fine print to understand how they got that number 😉

Check TR's review, which to be honest surprised me given Scott's recent AMD's witch hunting mood.

I want to clarify my understanding of turbo boost 2.0 and how it affects performance: what I understand is that given TDP and temperature headroom, the 760 will boost Core Clocks (and from Anands review I can see that it is always 1100MHz+). But is this consistent? I mean does the ambient environment play any role? What if my room temperatures are 40-45 Celcius?

Damn nice card for $250. I was surprised to see Nvidia come in a 249, I was thinking $299. I'll be recommending this card for 1080p builds to friends.

Both the 760 and the 7950 ghz are at 1000mhz (or close to) and should OC to between 1100-1200 pretty easily. The difference is you could get lucky and hit 1300mhz+ on the 7950. The 760 likely would not go much above 1250 for a good OC'd card.

Still, you are looking at a bit more performance for the 7950 vs. 760. If price is your only concern, it's a better deal. If free games are what you want, then the 7950 is obviously a better buy. The 760 will be less power hungry too, but be much slower in compute, depending on what matters to you more.

This is a viable alternative to the 7950, depending on needs.

Decided to grab one. Last time I was in the market for a popular graphics card they sold out rather quickly then came back on the market a month or two later for an additional $50. I don't want to get burned like that again.

Am I supposed to know what FXAA is? There's so many different types of anti aliasing technology now... I'll Google FXAA. I've turned most of my attention away from computer hardware and spent a lot of my time focusing on SC2 and esports.

What's TR?
