So its still not enough to beat a vanilla 680 with this,no surprises here.An oced 680 like Asus 680 DC II Top will destroy it.

It's just an overclocked 7970 that's 7% faster than a 925mhz stock 7970. Nothing special, and nothing you can't do with a regular 7970.

This 7970ghz bs is lame, it's the same reference pcb, a 7970 dual-x OC has a better pcb, but it might have a lower refined core asic. Maybe these 'GHz' boards are boasting better asic's that they've been prepping for 7990s. I dunno

think needs lots of juice for those clocks,fook my 7970 was hungry for juice. 1.3v for 1220 core temps were buetiiful,so not the prob:S

wow that's at 1075 but does not seem like much of an improvement over 925. its only a 6-7% total improvement from a 16% increase on core clock and 9% on memory.

they left off AA in some games though which helps the gtx680 especially in AvP where it will noticeably lose with it on.

They're about the same speed. I don't see anything drastically different with this ghz edition or whatever, I like that the 7970 isn't voltage locked (totally LAME that the 680 is voltage locked and to get around that you need an EVGA classified that will cost 700$.). Also I think the 7970 scales with clocks better than kepler does (IMHO) but this has all been beaten to death before. I don't see this radically changing the game for AMD, too little too late. I do think the 7970 is way better for water, unless you get a classified or something. Or voltage mod the asus cards.

What would be stupid is if they charged a premium for this. I wonder if they do that or just replace all existing sku's with these chips

they are just stating the listed specs for the gtx680 and gtx670.
