GTX 680 Release Date?

The 22nd or 23rd of march is looking at a possible paper launch, actual release date is yet unknown, as is price and pretty much most things about the card.
 
There are also several other dates mentioned as well as a possible hard launch.

So you're guess is as good as anyone's.

Just be patient and wait for the real reviews. If rumors are right, the GTX 680 launches in a week or so, so we'll soon see reviews on all the major review sites up.

I recommend:

1. Anandtech.com (the main site, not the forums) - technical info and synth benches

2. Hardocp.com - real-life gameplay with time charts

Techpowerup and Hardwarecanucks can serve to add more info, but really all you need is AT and [H] to get a good sense of the market.
 
Someone please remind ABT about EVGA GTX 460 FTW card that was sent to review sites on the eve of HD 6870/6850 launch to rain on that parade.

Gosh how one-sided people forget information when feeding their minions.

IF AMD sends out OC'ed HD 7970's to rain on GTX 680 launch I expect to see the opposite reaction from people back when AT included the GTX 460 FTW.

That thread is still here for people to read - remember who cried and who cheered.
 
Would not shock me Railven if AMD is cooking up a good mature processed 7970 with over the top clocks,28nm is impressive.

Wonder how far they can go?1400mhz on the core?2,000 on the memory?

I wouldn't hold my breath for a 7970+, getting CI out as fast as possible is far more important for AMD's long term survival than one-upping Nvidia. No point to waste R&D time, when AIB's are willing to do that for them.

They run to the next thread with gtx 680 in the title until the fanboys ruin it then onto the next. lol

Don't forget about HAWKS 2 demo as well. We'll see if the new AMD CEO is sleazy enough to match that one. Peronally, I wouldn't be surprised. 😉

Can't stand fanboys,i usually have bought nvidia cards till the 7970 came out,it was to awesome to pass up,i bought one and now i hope the gtx680 just drives the 7970 into the ground.

Either the 7970 gets a price cut and i get brave maybe later on doing crossfire or the gtx680 just blows the 7970 away and i switch over,pure performance is usually what drives me to a card and the best card with a strict budget.

It is a hobby for me and i think for most,but why it gets personal is really beyond me.

They are tying their own self image to the accomplishments of others. It is pathetic but amusing if you consider many of them look down on sports fans who act the same way.

Give it a rest. You're seeing enemies where there are none. I think s/he provided relevant information in a non-fanboy/fangirl-ish way. If you don't think the information is valuable, that's fine, criticize the message. But attacking the messenger is against the rules of the forum, especially against new forumers. How'd you like it if you just joined and that was your first post and the first guy that responds to you calls you a nvidia marketer?
