Custom 7970s were $580-600 not long ago. 4 months later we are about to get similar performance for possibly $430.

Too bad nVidia didn't show up 4 months ago. Too bad nVidia can't fill in their lineup. Imagine what some real competition would do to prices. We might have 7970's at <$400 and 7870's for $250 like last gen.

If these performance results are true and if it is true that these are binned GTX 680s...

I see more people doing SLI GTX 670s than going with a single GTX 690...

If they have any of these to sell people will go for them instead of the 690 "vaporware".

690's are listed at $2300 (~$1840USD D:) here in NZ, but none in stock.

$1840USD I always knew 690 to be equal to 3 680s and one 7850 :p
The reviewers didn't understand the card at all ;)

It's funny when the price is attempted placed on MRSP...outside the US.

I have always been used to $500 GPU = 5000 DKK
Even if the exchange rate is $500= 2853 DKK

The rest is import taxes and VAT.

So that people whine about prices on imported goods always make me smile a sad smile...

You know whats more funny... these cards are made in china and taiwan. Yet in these places they cost more than in the US market.

It's like they send the box to USA, then send it back with import tax.

Probably because an air leak or spill onto your mobo/cards won't fry the fricking lot unlike water! You had a leak resulting in what? From what you say you've assembled water cooling around 1000 times to make the 99.9% stat valid!

That is why you 24 hour leak test your system without power to anything but the pump. I've done quite a few loops and have only had one problem due to my own carelessness.

Except the 7850 was dirt cheap. The 670 isn't gonna be that cheap. You're really waiting for a 660. I expect the 670 to line up with the 7950 OC cards/7970s.

What I meant is that after the 670s release I expect the 7970 to drop to around 429.99 and the 7950 to 349.99

I think it'll take nVidia having supply closer to demand before AMD adjusts to those levels. AMD needs a killer driver release boosting performance in top titles, fixing CF in top titles, and just plain fixing stuff. They need a driver BOMB..

200 dollars is still cheaper than custom and far safer and easier to install

That's way too much. You could get yourself a H60 or Kuhler 620, and go buy yourself a custom bracket from somewhere like overclockers.net. Along with paying an additional $15 for VGA RAM sinks, you're looking at $60 + $10 + $15 = $85. I'm actually doing this with a H60 and GTX 480 soon. My custom bracket is being shipped to me as we speak. :)

I'm still not liking this locked voltage nonsense though. I'll wait for GTX 700s, and hopefully those will be unlocked.
