GTX 670 Availability

What times do vendors normally show availability? I am highly likely to purchase one the 10th assuming I am not stuck with the choice of a reference design. I've recently gone for the silent approach with all of my case fans, and it sure is peaceful.

Thought it was coming the 10th

Bah. That is what I meant. I keep thinking most releases revolve around Tuesday for some reason and completely lost track of what day it was. I still wonder if there is any trend when cards are available on release date. Could I realistically go to newegg.com at midnight EST and pick up the card? I've never purchased a graphics card when released and I am somewhat worried that supply will be tight like the 680.

From my experience with the gtx 680 launch cards were available shortly after the nda lifted and reviews went up. I mean within 10-20 minutes. They lasted for a few hours going in and out of stock at newegg. Everything was pretty much gone by about 2pm if I remember correctly.

For tomorrow you go to asia and buy one 😛

Here is the stock one. Not for sale yet tho.

915/1830Mhz (I would guess something like 975-1000Mhz boost.), same 6Ghz memory. 1344SPs, 112 TMUs (fits with one SMX disabled). And 175W TDP vs the 680 195W.

Im sure you can find GTX 680, if you look away from Newegg. Another person did when we discussed it 😉

Any I've seen available have been at a big price premium. At that point why buy it?

In NZ you can get 680's any day of the week. They're $900NZD incl. GST (You have to pay it here. It's not like the States where you can get around sales tax by ordering out of state.) Or, you can get a HD 7970 for $735NZD (Both of these are cheapest in stock prices.). Who in their right mind would buy a 680 for $165NZD (~$130USD) more?

the GTX 680 is available at newegg. you just have to keep refreshing the screen ( sucks I know ) they have been coming in and out of stock all day today.

I have a feeling that the 660s are going to be flooding actually. Trickle down binning process. Hence the 6 month wait.

I would tend to doubt that there will ever be ANY "non-reference design" silent (fanless) GTX 670 or even GTX 660 cards. And: probably not any silent (fanless) of any of the GTX 600 series cards for purchase anytime soon.
The only available silent GTX 500 series cards are: GTX 520's.
Whether there will be any better performing (GTX 630, 640, 650) + silent cards remains to be seen.

Source?

I've seen people say that GK106 has 768 CUDA's but according to this site 660ti is GK104 with 6 SMX clusters vs 7 on GTX 670 and 8 on 680. It also supposedly has 1152(!) CUDA's.

Now that you mention it I have seen where there was going to be 3x gk104 bins since gk110 won't be out until the 700 series. In those specs they've also reduced the ROP's and mem bus (192bit) for the 660ti. That will likely reduce performance by quite a bit. Think HD 5830.
