At least AMD doesn't take a GPU core and make FIVE series let alone the countless individual models.

G92 = 8800GT/9800GT/GTS150/GTS250/340

Don't really understand where you are getting at. Show me where a 8800GT has equal performance of a GTS250? Yes its the same architecture, but so is the 5000 series, you just remove some cores and voi la you go from a 5870 to a 5850. All companies do this...
Nvidia was able to fit the G92 in many different price/performance segments, at the end of the day what do we care what the chip inside is called? As long as it meets our price/performance ratio and has the features that we want.

The 8800GT is not the same speed or core count as the gts250. The gts150 and gts340 were both mobile parts and completely separate from dedicated desktop gpu variants.

What a load of FUD.

6770 is a renamed 5770 with some added hdmi stuff or something like that. AMD is open about it and says: you can CrossfireX these two cards.

Have you SLIed a 8800 with a 250?

68xx is mid/high end, while the 58xx was the high end. Whats the point in spreading such FUD anyway? Transparent to the extreme.

I never once mentioned anything about crossfire or SLI. And since when does a company saying anything about hardware keep uninformed consumers safe from what they think is an upgrade purchase? ABSOLUTELY nothing I said was fud in any way at all. Quit getting butt hurt and fanboy about crap both companies are doing.

Do you know what makes me "butt hurt"? Personal attacks. Knock it off you clowns.

The Radeon 5700 series has been a highly successful line for AMD in both price, profit, and performance. I guess they figured they'd just copy it into the 6770 line and call it a day. Sucks for us, but we want AMD making money, right?
