GTX 490 throws down to 5970

That wasn't the point. Whenever we have to start asking if a 850 w power supply will handle a videocard it is getting ridiculous. They need to look at reducing power consumption in the future.

Ah...my bad then. And yes when you put it that way, I 100% agree with ya.

EDIT:

I wonder which of these options would draw less power....

GTX490
GTX465 SLI
ATI 5970
ATi 5770 Crossfire (Maybe 3-way)
GTX465 SLI

I "WILL" be going with one of these options. I just wish I knew which one :(

Don't forget, they sell the GTX480 with a "250w" TDP, but I think we all know it can pull up to 300w. If they release a 375w TDP card it'd probably pull 425+ in furmark/intensive junk. That's 35A+ O_O
