According to our sources, the 1GB variant will come will GF100 chip which is completely cut down to the level of GF104, meaning 336 cores but with 256-bit memory interface, rather than the 192-bit one inside the GF104. There will be a price difference between the two, but more importantly - difference in availability as well. While GTX 460 768MB will be available for months to come, expect GTX 460 1024MB available only until nVidia clears the inventory of GF100 chips that weren't stable enough to work in 448 or 480 core configuration.
