You should upgrade the GPU first because you're not CPU bottlenecked as of now. Since 7850 isn't that big of an upgrade over gtx 460, get at least a 7870 even if that means you're sometimes CPU bottlenecked. It will still make a big difference.

Thanks so much. I think I'm gonna go for a 7870 or gtx 660 if I can find one for the same price as the 7870.

i recommend you get a new cpu. i was on a q9550 @ 3.6ghz with a 5770 before then i upgraded to a 2500k @ 4.5 ghz and man was it fast.... i could play all high settings with the 5770 in bf3 no problem

Wow...oh the dilemma. CPU or GPU. I could do mostly ultra w/o AA right now.

You don't need to upgrade your GTX 460 1GB if you're, like me, gaming at 1680x1050. Grab a 2nd GTX 460 1GB for some SLI goodness that blows the socks off the HD 7870.

My GPUs are overclocked 24% to 840/1680/4200. Be smart.

yeah I tried SLI and was pissed I couldn't turn up the settings on BF3 MP d/t a lack of vram. Yeah the game ran a lil faster but I couldn't get it to look any better.

I think you should be looking at GTX 670 and HD7950. GTX660 is one of nVidia cards that is going to leave you flat with games in the near feature. I see much more gaming bliss with the 7950 or 670 for at min a two year run.

I know budget is concern. With a 7950 you could get the game bundle and sell that off for ~100 bux and have a realzed cost of <$200 for the upgrade. If you sell your 460 I think you can make a quick 70-80 more to bring cost down to ~125 for the upgrade.

Sapphire has a 7950 card for $270,.. you play the thing right your upgrade could put you out less than $100 bux.

Edit: a 7950 or 670 will slot in much better to a future CPU upgrade than would a lesser card to a future CPU upgrade. Given you will be upgrading both GPU and CPU i'd get the right GPU now and the right CPU later.
