GTX 295 on sale at the Egg!

Was wondering what evga would do regarding decals considering the mesh can't be covered. A nice clean look. The black Lincoln Town Car of vid cards...

That's a great looking card...Hopefully the drivers will be sick...I have high hopes for this card...Decided to pass on the 280's...Just couldn't find a way to like the design...This I like...Let's see those official reviews now...

Wow the first 1.8 GB (ok close a estimate) video ram video card! :Q

Didn't think it would be here this soon. We are going from 512 MB video cards to well over 1 GB video cards in quite a short amount of time! What kind of games require this much video ram ?

Isnt it actually shared memory ? Like the 2 GIG on the HD 4870X2 ?

Is it really?

Unless this is sarcasm 😛 Yes I do believe it is true. There isnt a total of 1.8 gig actually being used, and there isnt a total of 2 gig being used on the X2.

Someone else could better explain this, and I am totally unsure on how to word it.

But yea, I am sure it is correct however and it is shared *or however it is said*

What a boring ass box it comes in.

I like the box much better than most. The "art" on most video cards and their packaging bugs the heck outta me. The box on that EVGA card just screams "This card is marketed to adults"

I like this little tibbit from a review I read about the BFG GTX 295

The box in question

The BFG GTX 295 comes in a misleadingly small box, that features some sort of helmeted, tatooed yoga instructor on the front, who appears to be on fire.

I'd buy it for about $250 or so. Otherwise, bah good luck nvidia. If you support it the way you did the 9800GX2...

Wow :| one sexy card that i tell u. And the missing memory has summin to do with allocation of the video memory isnt it? Same like 4 GBs of memory on 32 bit OS, just wont work to its full potential, i think that possibly has summin to do with the missing 200MBs on the 295

You probably are not their target audience with that card 😉

I don't know if a lot of you are just being sacrcastic or just uninformed. Any card that has 2 gpu's on it has the ram split between them which in this case is 896MB for each gpu. 896MB * 2 = 1792MB RAM which is what it has. There is none lost.

On the X2 it's 1GB on each gpu for a total of 2GB. Each gpu can only use what's allocated to it which is half of the total ram since it's split in half.
