GTX 285 2GB vs 4890 XT

Just got a chance to pick either the EVGA GTX 285 2GB or XFX 4890X XT cards up today -- from a local dealer who is having a crazy sale. With all things been equal -- which is the better card? Honestly (don't shoot me) all I care about is how quiet and cool the card runs. I don;t actually play newer games.. just Everquest and WoW but for the price he is selling I simply cant pass up on the price. The two cards he is selling for pretty much the same price... so trying to decide between the two.
thanks

obviously the 285, but it is a much more expensive card. The 4890 is priced close to and competes with the 275. If you found somewhere selling a 285 for the price of a 4890 i would buy 2 of them and go SLI 🙂

What are the prices again?

Here's both cards on newegg right now and they're not remotely close in price.

EVGA GTX285 2GB $408

XFX 4890 Xtreme $230 AR

Damn US prices. My friend at the local comp store is offering me the 285 for $315 and the 4890 for $285 (all Canadian). Guess the 285 2GB it is. Thanks all

don't know about noise/heat on the 285 or 4890, but the 260 vs 4870 noise/heat battle definitely goes to the 260.

at prices that close then I would be hard-pressed not to choose the 285.

Wow that's a crazy price on the GTX 285 if it's the 2GB model. +1 GTX285 2GB
