GTX 260

Uhh, you're kidding, right? The GTX 260 is a $300 part, no one is selling it for the prices you want.

I found a couple on eBay for $250 but they don't ship outside the U.S. Would be nice to combine one of those Microsoft Live 20% off promos.

I wouldn't be looking for a new card until you upgrade that CPU. An X2 3600+ @ 2.7GHz is going to be a serious bottleneck to a card like the GTX 260. Especially considering that is the Windsor 3600+, with only 2x256KB L2.

So thus anyone know any deals.
The GTX260 generally sells for around $300 here in North America.

You need to find a price search engine for Australia. In the US they have Froogle, here in Canada we have ShopBot.ca. I'm sure there's one down under. Just watch out for dingoes. 🙂

I wouldn't attempt shipping something into Australia, unless you can somehow find a way to purchase things online from say Hong Kong. Depending on taxes, duty, brokerage fees, and shipping costs, you may be able to get a better deal, but you will be caught waiting for the card for up to a month (at least that's how it works in Canada; I imagine your government has a similar structure there).

not really, stuff gets shipped here quick.
anyways, cheapest gtx 260 in aus is about $350.
How does the Australian dollar compare to the US dollar? That might actually be an ok deal is the Aussie dollar is worth less than the US dollar.

doesn't Australia fall into the list of "countries that get raped on electronics costs because they are not the USA?"

pretty much

Nope , Only by Sony and Nintendo :! I have a PS3 and Wii and i still can't get half the stuff that is on virtual console and psn store. As for XBOX live , i get the stuff on time and on the same day as the US launch... also able to participate in game beta.

Microsoft , Intel , ATI , Nvidia , AMD , Gigabyte , MSI , Asus don't rape you 🙁
