Now I remember why I quit pc gaming a few years ago. Prices for ridiculous and I decided I was out. I refuse to spend half a grand or more on a gpu. Now a $700 gpu is normal? Geez.
Then you're in the wrong forum.

I could give you a list of reasons, but I'd get warned for it. At least. I will say that most of the complaints aren't warranted. Price is the only area I can see having a problem with as these "mid range" 1070 and 1080 should be way cheaper considering GP102 is still yet to come. Titan should be 649.00
1080Ti 549.00
1080 399 to 425
1070 299 to 325
1060Ti 249.00
1060 199.00
1050 129-149

Nice prices.
For this brief moment in time, looks like Newegg has the Gigabyte 1070 FE/Mouse combo actually in stock:

I just checked again, Almost all but a MSI GTX1080 card are unavailable. The MSI card is 829 Euro.
There is a GTX1070 Founders Edition card from EVGA available for the price of : 569 Euro. (641,6 USD) 😱

You use prices with VAT to compare against what, no VAT prices? The MSI card is ins tock and sold at other retailers for 749 with 19% VAT.
Also there are plenty of cards in stock around. Few examples.

But they do sell fast.
Plenty of more affordable, yet capable cards exist. 1080 is a halo product. You can pick up a 980ti for less than $400. Or get one of the upcoming RX series cards from AMD, which will pack quite a punch for the price. Now I remember why I quit pc gaming a few years ago. Prices for ridiculous and I decided I was out. I know its capitalism, but dang it how can amazon.com let sellers charge $1000 for the 1080..they are all "new" sellers as well. hehe

Last premium gpu I bought was a gtx 580 Asus dc. Beast of a card but then the reality that I spent $500 on a video card dawned on me. That was the last time for me. Now people are willing to shell out $700 or even up to a $1000. I think I'd go buy a dirt bike or myself a new bicycle for that.
In Peru is literally impossible to get one and when they gets released it won't be at even 100 dollars more.... you will find them at minimun... 35% more of their current prices!!!my local computer chain is selling the gtx 1080 and 1070 founders cards with a $100 dollar markup. bastards!
Evga 1080 FE in stock right now @ Newegg
