I know I'm way late with this game but I just picked it up and I've got some control/graphics/community questions.

First, I've got an Xbox 360 wireless wheel and I've ordered the receiver that allows you to use it with a PC, does anyone know if the force feedback will work with this game?

Second, I'm using a computer I built in '04...it's no graphical beast by any stretch of the imagination (1GB RAM, AMD Athlon 64 3400+, ATI Radeon X800 XT PE), any idea what settings I should run it at?

And finally, I know there's a huge amount of community-made content (cars, tracks, etc), where's the best place to find said content? I did a google search or two but didn't see what I was looking for.

Thanks!

I don't think Force Feedback will work with the 360 wheel on the PC. It might on newer titles that have built-in support for it but not an older game like GTR2.

Drat, I was hoping that with the PC drivers the receiver came with it'd register it as a typical controller and FF would work, guess ya never know. Any idea about the other's oh "goober"? :p

Negative. I don't think any PC games will use the force feedback feature of the 360 wheel.

You should (I think) be able to max all settings, depending on what resolution you're looking to run at. Even none of the GTR/L games have been particularly demanding.

For downloads, I generally go here:

Enjoy :)

Question for you knowledgable posters, what are some of the bigger mods that people run? I'd love to just DL come cars but I'm worried I won't be able to use 'em online, are they typically allowed on online servers? I understand that they'd wanna ban a 5000 hp car and such.

If you want to race online with mods, you should find a league to join. On public servers you'll get a mismatch, plus public servers aren't much fun anyway unless your into demolition derby style racing.

I'm nowhere near ready to race with a league...I don't have the receiver thingy yet so ATM I'm driving with the keyboard, it's rough...and less than fun.

Out of curiousity, what are some of the bigger/better/more popular/more welcoming/more noob friendly leagues out there?

Dunno, I'll try and look into it. Since the league I was racing in shut down, I've been kinda outta the loop as far as GTR2 goes. Seems like most of them have moved on to GTR Evolution, and a wheel is a MUST have for any of the GTR series.

I've got a wheel, I just can't use it yet. Apparently the FF won't work though on the PC.

GTR2, Race 07 and GTR Evo are very picky about controls. i still can't get FF on my logitech cordless rumblepad, despite everything looking good the the maze of control screens.
