Yea I know...its not really a apples to apples comparison, but both are 19.99 at local BB and I have a $20 GC. I was considering between the two, and ended up bringing GTR2 back home with me. But I havent opened it yet. I've heard good things about both games, but Im wondering which will provide me with more involving gameplay. Oh and I dont have a racing wheel. I heard you need to have one of those to enjoy GTR2 fully. But then again, i heard you need to pay a monthly fee for CoH

quests are extremely boring and repetitive, enemies are the same everywhere, all the buildings you go into for quests look the same. absically a grindfest. it seems like they put all their effort into the character builder and left the rest of the game alone.

i infaact enjoyed the story line for once in my life, i couldent stand WoW or evershit,

coh hasa comic book theme, it was ALOT easier to play and alot more friendly environment,

point, what server did you play? and what level did you get up to?

I've been playing CityofHeroes/Villains for almost 2 years now...its a great game and the only MMORPG that I have been willing to shell out monthly cash for.

As far as being repetitive with the same enemies, alot of the story arcs have you fighting the same group of enemies which is no different than the comic books and a lot of the different zones will have you running into the same groups but not all enemies are in the same zones.

On another note with the same enemies thought, I believe that alot of MMORPG and RPGs in general you run into the same enemy number times.

I have gtr2. The online is pretty rough. If you want to race online, I suggest Live for Speed. I love that game.

GTR2 is nice with my Momo wheel, but I'd take Flat Out 2 over GTR2 because it's just so much more fun to play.

I've been thinking of playing CoH for awhile now, and I'm just REALLY getting sick of WoW. Too much drama and its just stand around trying to get a group together to do something only to have it fall apart most of the time. I hate wasting time. That game is a big ass chat room, but it's a guys Barbie doll game where your show off your dress (armor) to increase your e-penis.

Sorry if this turned into a rant.

how does GTR2 compare with GT or CMR in terms of realism. I enjoyed playing games like GT and CMR. But I remember playing a Nascar sim that was ultra realistic and I didnt enjoy it at all

A lot more realistic. It's hard at first, but once you get the feel of control, you won't want to go back. It takes some patience, but that's what makes it rewarding. There's a greater learning curve.
Go get yourself a used wheel on ebay for $30 or so.

City Of Villains is actually the best MMORPG out right now, IMO.

It's the only MMORPG to use a physics engine which it puts to spectacular use with minions flailing around like rag dolls and bouncing off railings and collapsing to the ground....like you'd expect from a superheroes attack.

Groups are totally free-flowing. There's no need for a nuker or tank or healer until you get to very high levels and, even then, one defender or corrupter is usually enough to buff/debuff your team to victory.

The number of side quests is actually surprisingly high and you'd never know 75% of them were there unless you ended up in a group with a leader who already knew about it. The Shivan quest for example which gives you an Elite Boss pet reuseable 5 times.

Character customization. First of all, the character generator which is still second to none. Incredible flexibility and chance to look truly unique. Aside from that and more importantly, there are so many classes and power sets within classes that you can configure a character to your exact personal play style. There's not just a tank. To clarify, you choose a primary and secondary power sets of which there are at least a half dozen to choose and each powerset in your primary and secondary and the combination thereof, is what defines you, so within each class you have at least 36 combination which are each distinctly different from each other and which ever one you are will have a direct effect on how the groups you're in will approach missions.

That said, it's still extremely shallow beyond PvE combat and combat itself gets repetitive really quick. So this is still a very limited experience, but it's not cut from the EQ/WoW/DAOC mold so it deserves that much credit.

I have a logitech driving force pro. It's fun. I'm happy to just drive the cars in gtr2. The online competition of Live for Speed is a riot though.

if you like racing, get some kind of logitech wheel. There is no comparison.

I had the ForceRS and the MS Sidewinder ForceFeedbacj. The latter is a better wheel. Better ergonomics. If you don't want to spend that much, I think a used momo force or an MS FF wheel would both be good choices for around $30. The Driving Force Pro is probably the next best wheel, but costs significantly more. I haven't checked receptly, but I think it's in the ballpark of around $75 used.
And if you want to get the supreme, there is the Logitech G25 for $230.
If you get really hardcore.. you get the pro wheels, the ECCI and Thomas ones. Those are probably the only ones that actually feel like the real thing.
