I've been reading up on this 6800 GTO card and as always have a few questions.

If the 6800 GTO is pci- express is it possible to open up the extra pipes?
If its possible how do you unlock it (hopefully people who have done it can give exact steps)

I hear that the cards are sli ready... would the heat be any problem with sli?
Thanks for your time

WTH is a GTO? Is it like a severely crippled GT, or is it their name for a 6800 vanilla?

That's where I'd start. Also, you might try eBay ;) .

As far as SLI-ing them, I don't see why not, if they have the SLI connector, then it should work. As far as unlocking them, IIRC, the GTO is based on the NV41 GPU, meaning that is it essentially an up-clocked version of the 6800NU (12-pipeline). I know for sure that NV41's don't unlock as there are ONLY 12-pipes in the GPU (and 5 VP's). So, you would be SOL for unlocking, but you'd still be able to OC it.
