GTO2 Price Increase?

I've been the following the GTO2 developements as I am in the market for a new card and today I noticed a rather large jump in prices for the GTO2 on newegg.

That's right it's now 299.99. I found a few other sites that still have the lower prices but I was wondering if anyone has heard about a possible permanent price jump on it because if so I need to go max out the credit card...

i bought one days ago for $300AUD with Zalman cooler + shipping = 225USDish
Anyways i had choice of either 6600GT $230AUD or X800GT $240AUD or X800GTO2 $280. so i spend the extra cash and installed the zalman cooler > flash > new bios > oc to 570/620 and now i have a awesome x850XT PE 🙂
 
That Sapphire hasn't been on NewEgg the past few days; no doubt they possibly ran out but definitely used that time to up the price thanks to demand.
 
don't worry, if everybody stops buying the GTO2 from newegg, the price would be going back down.

That would be nice, but from what I've heard, this GTO2 is only a limited edition from Sapphire.
