lol the dude is prob scared shitless

Which is even more depressing to realize this individual is that oblivious to the world. The cop is riding his ass, and he never realizes he should probably switch to a lane that isn't that left-most one.

I absolutely fucking hate people who drive slower or at the pace of traffic in the left lane. You can drive in it, but when you recognize parts of traffic are going faster than you and approaching from the rear, then you need to clear the lane for faster traffic. It's simple stuff people. Too many damn morons out there.

And on that note, I experienced an equally as hilarious situation. Just wish I had thought to record it, which would have been easy considering I wasn't even driving.

On our trip down to Cinci, we encountered a Scion xB piloted likely by a teenager with a fairly new license. This individual was driving slow, then got behind us and close, as if to tell us to get into the other lane. So the guy driving the car I'm in decided to do just that, and then the Scion guy never passes us. So we get back over, and then he gets over into the right lane and starts going faster. This process repeats with some variations to the routine for a few miles, and our driver decides to rattle his nerves a little bit because he's being a fucking moron behind the wheel. Mind you, we were both going about 80-85. Our driver lets the gap between us grow a bit, and I can't remember what we did exactly, but at one point we gunned it a little, and then we coasted a bit... eventually the Scion decides to catch up a little, and then closes the gap a lot. As he's getting even closer, our driver hits the brakes a little and then gets behind the Scion in the left lane. We drive behind him fairly fast for awhile, then slow down and he just continues driving ahead probably 85-90. We then pass a cop, barely in the "safe-speeding" range when we recognize the cop is there, and the whole time we are hoping this Scion gets pulled over. Well, the cop pulls out, turns on his lights, flies past us. Half a mile up we see that Scion pulled over.

cop was tailgating like a son of a bitch, which is every bit as bad as just going the speed limit in the passing lane. Dude should have slammed on his breaks.

Here we don't have a passing lane, instead we have a fast lane. I hate people who drive slow in the fast lane. Slow cars are to keep right.

It's the appropriate response. Normally I give the person adequate time to change lanes when I come up behind them. If they still coast along in the left lane then I tailgate them for a little bit. If that doesn't get the message across I pass them on the right and then cut them off on the way back over.

Where is this?

Generally, we refer to our left lane as either a passing or fast lane. It's meant for faster traffic, but it gets bogged down at times. Doesn't help when the majority of long-distance commutes are two-lanes in one direction, and there are often quite a few trucks. Traffic tends to get bogged down most when there are a lot of trucks, because slow cars want to pass the trucks... but they are barely going any faster than the trucks. Long line of trucks? Traffic isn't going any faster than those trucks until that car a mile ahead finally gets into the right-hand lane ahead of the 10th truck. Shit like that causes almost every single traffic jam. That, and idiots who don't know how to handle busy traffic and lane-merges around congested on and off ramps. It's pretty simple, and most massive traffic jams are the result of a few retarded decisions by drivers around a busy area.

If he did, what would've happened? It's the cop's fault, right? If he tries otherwise, then he's being corrupt...

Except there would have been video evidence of the guy in the front brake checking, which is illegal and constitutes insurance fraud.

People who treat it as the fast lane are part of the problem. They feel entitled to be in the fast lane as long as they are going faster than the speed limit. The problem with that is, just because you are going 80mph and passing slower cars, doesn't mean you don't have to move over when someone behind you is going 100mph.

The law says it is a fast lane here, and it is a fast lane. If we treated it like a passing lane only, there would be huge problems with traffic.

Here is California, the left lane is a fast lane here. The worst are old people who go 50 mph in the lane and think they are zooming by.

No offense to old people, they just seem to drive slower than they should.

What is annoying too is when the fast lane is also a carpool lane. You have soccer moms with a bunch of kids going 65 mph in it.

No, it would not be the cops fault. If you think that, you're as dumb as Qbert.
