GTA3 Problem

After finally fixing the slow down problem in GTA3, another problem has come up. When I try to load a saved game, the "completed" bar goes all the way to the end, and then I get this error message:

Anyone know how to fix this problem, or do I just have to wait for the patch? 🙁

Is this a legit copy of the game? The illegal version of the game has this problem..

Uhhhh.......yeah, its a legit copy 😉 😉 😉 Anyway...why does this happen though, it is the ISO version of the game I believe.

From what I've heard the crack for the warez version of GTA3 was improperly midified from the original executable and had a bug that rendered saved games unusable.

Evidently it also impacts most of the no-CD hacks available on the internet, as I tried to apply a no-cd hack to my genuine purchased copy of GTA3 and also had that problem until I re-installed the original non modified excutable.

I've no idea if there are any resolutions short pf purchasing the game, nor would I be inclined to state any such resolution if I did know of them.
AT typically views warez software quite unfavourably.

FYI there is a fixed .exe out for the "warez" version of gta3 released by deviance. Look around, i'm sure you will find it.

Rockstar is going to have some serious patching work to do on this game. Just today I was playing and all of a sudden, the text messed up, and the game slowed down to like 0.5fps. When I went back to the menu, it worked fine.

I also encountered the D3D bug upon installing (menu text is borked), but the MS patched fixed it. (I have the boxed version, btw). Not impressed with Rockstar's QA.

I have a LEGAL copy of the game (see my thread a couple of days back) and I've hit freeze/crashes both times I've tried to answer phone call missions (the phone by Joey's and the page after the payroll heist). The title screens come up and then...nothing. Alt-Tab brought up this error:

Unhandled exception: c0000005
At address: 00401151

It's a different addy than the picture above, but the same error. Any ideas?
