im told from a few dif people that you can use codes and get 100% in this game

with the exception of the pedestrians riot code

anyone else know if this is true?

I finished the main story line and captured all the gang territories and bought/acquired all the properties in a few weeks. Haven't felt the need to pop it in the console again since.

i bought the game, loved it, then got halo 2, it was so so, then haven't played GTA since about november

just getting back into it again and on my way to beating it for the 1st time

I was playing it for a while, but it was too long. I got pretty far and pretty much just stopped playing it.

there is so much to do, i'd hate to see what kind of person gets 100% with out the strategy guide

(i doubt they would ever see day light)

yeh Xbox and PC today!

how is the control on the PC?
i never played a GTA game on the PC since the early ones.

If SA is anything like VC and GTA3, this game will rock. I've never had a problem with controls on the PC, and I use keyboard/mouse.

would you recommend it on the PC over the Xbox are the grafics etc better? or just more moddable? i was gonna get the Xbox version but my PC kicks ass just worried about the controls

Well, the graphics aren't the best on the PC, but it looks much better than the Xbox version since you can run it at the higher resolutions. Also, the keyboard and mouse control worked great for me on the original GTA3 and VC, even driving the vehicles.

I ordered a Xbox controller to PC adapter so I'll just get it for the PC. I doubt I'll use kb+mouse for it. I got a PS2 style gamepad too that I might use too.

Agree, except I think the graphics on the PC look good considering the age of the engine. GTA3 even looks good, now that I can actually play it at 16x12 with full aa and af.

I'm off to WalMart now to pick up my copy of SA.

Anyone who gets it for PC report back on how well it looks and if you can get some screens.

I done beat it for PS2 because I couldn't wait for the PC release but I love the PC series because you can add your own music and it looks 10x better than PS2. It took me roughly 30-35 hours(few months of playing off and on) to beat it and thats not messing around much. I can't say I will beat it for PC but I am mainly wanting it just to mess around with.

Yep, those that are getting it today be sure and post back what you think. I've not made up my mind if I'm picking this up yet....I definately love the series (especially VC) but my interest of games in general seems to be going down.

Here is two, i'll post some more. Having a little trouble with aa.

The picks look pretty good. What resolution are you using and how well does it run?

16x12

P4 3.2ghz northwood
1GB ddr400
256 X800 Pro
(all stock)

Note: I have never played or seen this game before today (I don't own a console).

Well after playing, it looks like it may be capped at 25 fps. I'll check to see if any options are set on/off to fix. The graphics look a level ahead of vice city, many more textures on the screen and better detail, especially with objects in the distance. I went from a bike to a cop motorcycle, and have to say that cop bike rocks.

The city is big, a little intimidating at first like GTA3. Also, the environment is a little more dark like GTA3, which I am happy about. It's a little thuggy, lot's of F this and N that, but that was expected.

The sounds are better, the cops firing at me seemed more intimdating, I seemed to piss them off soon for some reason. The cops and pedestrians seem to have much better AI. Already had a gang firing at me too, unlike in gta3 and vc where you piss them off first.

Overall: I'd say a  so far, for 15 minutes of gameplay. This will be a fun game for the next few months.

As noted, its HUGE. Had to look at the map constantly to figure out where I was.

I aslo run it at 16x12 4aa 8as. Still get that shimmering effect that I will have to fix. Think you sset the LoD to -.5 and use rivatuner to set AA to 4AAS and the shimmering goes away.

What exactly do you do to get the shimmering to go away? Please explain in detail. Thanks.
