gta san andreas grainy video

I was playing it on pc, but after I alt-tabbed out of it the graphics are grainy, like i can see individual circles of like a light gradient thing, and the color quality is pretty bad. I have tried lower resolutions and stuff but nothing works. Thanx for your help.

What kind of video card do you have?

I have saw similar issues with some of my older video cards which didn?t have the greatest drivers.

If I had to guess other than updating the drivers for your card you might just have to live with it (or not alt+tab out of the game). I assume that the problem goes away after you restart the game (or perhaps restart the pc)?

well ive already restarted my pc and im running a 6800gt pci-e. I believe i have the latest drivers
guess ill try reinstalling

As far as I can tell SA's gamma is pre-set, but when you alt-tab out then back in, your monitor's gamma takes over. It happens to me all the time (I prefer it in fact since using the ingame brightness results in washed out color and the default ingame gamma is just too dark on my monitor.)

At certain times like dusk, the graphics are made grainy intentionally .. like film grain in old movie reels
