to be specific, how do I know where the girls want to go on a date? I thought I just had to pick an icon on the map, but I guess I was wrong.

Well, after you pick her up...just drive around and eventually it will say, "It looks like she wants to do some drive-bys" or "She wants to go dancing, take her to a club."
