I'll start by saying I haven't played it on either PS3 os Xbox360, just the PC. PC specs -

I get around 35fps average, not super great but playable.
I have played every GTA with the exception of the 2 that were made for the PSP and never saw light on the PC.
The graphics are pretty good, a lot of shit going on to keep you interested, sound is nice, radio stations are cool, but I think I heard the same song 4 times in an hour today - that's worse than real radio lol. AI sucks, cops still don't care if you barrel thru red lights doing 100. The "people" of Liberty City are idiots, I can pretty much at any given time watch people stroll into the street without looking and get ran down by a car. When the cops are after you, they tend to drive like drunk asian females. Unless I have 4+ stars evading them is very easy.
Missions aren't much different than the previous GTA's, being only 25% into the game I haven't had to drive any RC cars loaded with explosives or fly a remote control heli. As with the other GTA's, your character seems to have no problem with meeting somebody and 20 seconds later killing a bunch of dudes for them. Brucie is one of the BEST characters in any game, he's fucking hilarious! I wish they had made more missions for him, every cut scene with was retardly funny.
With the open end-ness of it, it's easy to get side tracked. This is the first GTA where I've gotten anywhere in the first week of play. With GTA:SA I think I spent about 2 weeks just driving around killing people and exploring. Today I was on a quest to get a 6 star wanted level. Apparently achiving 6 is next to impossible. I found a spot by a ladder and killed like 150 cops and 100 swat team dudes as they climbed down and was still only at 5 stars. The missions so far are easy, I have lost a few of the "chase" ones due to bugs where the baddie got away in 2 seconds. The shitty traffic AI making me crash caused me to loose a couple. They added a feature where in some of the killing missions you get to choose weather you kill them or let them go. I'm not sure how the choice effects the game, if at all.
I don't like having to hang out and do lame things with your friends to keep your level up. Bowling is ok, darts is retard and way too easy. Not sure exactly how the friendship level thing plays into the game, but if you turn anyone down you get a lower %.
If you've never played a GTA game, this is pretty fun if your system can handle it. Some of the characters, especially Brucie, Roman & Manny are funny. A lot of the others are just typical "I'm a bad ass!" bad guy. I've been playing a decent number of hours, I don't know 10 or so. And it's saying I'm 23% into the game. I'm use to playing FPS's where 10 hours would be the whole game, maybe two times over ha. There's a lot to do, I don't really see where it's going to go from here but I'm interested to actually try to finish.
I've never finished a GTA game, SA I came the closest but was still probably less than 50%.
