GTA IV - GPU or CPU Intensive

I am thinking of building a PC capable of playing GTA V, it will have very similar graphics to GTA IV due to the same game engine, The build will be based around a FX6300 and a HD7770(Still Thinking) and 8gb 1600 DDR3
I am a bit undecided about the GPU as it depends on the money that is available, but it will definitely be a HD7770 or better.

My questions is, Is GTA IV more dependent on the CPU or GPU, and would the above handle it?

I'm not a mod, so I can't really give out warnings or close threads. I am just letting you know about the established etiquette.
 
It runs fine on the rig in my sig. It certainly likes at least 4 Cores. It will be fine on the fx6300. Not sure about the 7770, should be fine, but >1gb could possibly be better, that would mean a 7850 card though. Which I assume is over your budget. That said, my 5870 is only a 1gb card and though I can't push details to Max, it looks very good.
 
There are lots of youtube videos and threads in other forums that have managed tl run on ultra with the viewing distance a tad below full
