If the game gets delayed because of EA, the world will probably implode. Its not going to happen, hostile takeover or not.

These two things don't mix well. ;)

...but ya, EA and analysts can suck it.

Same here. If EA somehow gets GTA4 delayed I will not buy it. In fact, I will go out of my way and make EA miserable.

I can't imagine the game getting delayed at this point. They've likely already begun the manufacturer process at this point and will be shipping units out to distributors soon.

This has nothing to do with EA at this point. This is simply some know-nothing analyst trying to stir up a pot of water and turn it into stew. Anyone who thinks EA has something to do with these rumors really need to read the article.

Yes, EA sucks, but you should be more pissed at them currently for Bad Company than a game they have ZERO ownership of.

You guys are ridiculous.

Unless you intend on firebombing EA's corporate headquarters, I highly doubt anything you are capable of doing will make EA miserable.

It's just a game. And moreso, it is a business. To neglect yourself a great game for some irrelevant (and really, unmerited) personal protest is absurd.

Regardless, it will almost certainly be out April 29.

Ya, I also highly support what Modeps and Queasy had to say in their posts above this one. Boycotting games like GTA IV will do nothing because you will never get enough people to do it with you. If anything, a fraction of people agreeing to do so will only hurt the sales and EA will just look at the game as being less of a success than it could have been which could backfire. Less success means less profit which means there will be potentially less future support. You gotta think 3 steps ahead here.

The only thing which will ever impact EA at this point that leads to favorable results for the consumer is adequate competition from another publisher.

Didn't say I wouldn't play the game, just said I wouldn't buy it. It's not a personal protest, it's a choice not to give them my money.

And yes, I know it's just an analyst saying this. And I know it's not likely to happen.

Which is why EA's attempt to take over Take Two is a bad thing.

I agree with Ducci here--you guys need to relax. :)

I agree 100%. I do not support EA's strategy to "secure" their company by buying out all of their competition. Little to no competition is never in the best interest of the consumer.

This is the dumbest idea I've read in a long time. Delaying until the holidays means LESS people buying it. Yeah, if you compare the number who buy it in the first week, there will be more. What about the number of people who will buy the game between now and the holidays? That's 8 months of buying. Plus, anyone who was going to buy it for the holidays can still buy it then if they don't already have it. What a stupid, stupid idea. I really doubt they would do this, unless there are flaws in the game that really do need work. They can just as easily release minor fixes that don't affect most people as patches.

I would cancel my preorder of the CE as well and then find other means to get it...

Why help EA... let them hang themselves..

The gaming world would be a better place.

What I dont understand is why Rockstar and Take 2 havent done what Blizzard did..
Find another giant to seek shelter from EA with.

Blizzard/Activision now have nothing to fear with their agreement.

Are you certain that they didn't try to do that? I'm not saying that they did because I do not know, but if I were as big in the industry as Take 2 then that option most certainly would have presented itself to me as something to try. There is most likely a good explaination.

I agree Xavier but even if they were looking someone would have leaked it you would think anyway.

I sure as hell woulda been looking for another large Gaming company to join with as Blizzard did.

Keeps these large companies from swooping in like EA is trying to do.

It's a good question. I would like to know why it didn't work out that way myself. The only thing that I can think of is that they underestimated EA in regards to a hostile take over or they were told "no" when they were seeking out other companies. I don't believe that things would have leaked easily if the answer was no. In any case, there is probably a good reason.
