GT4 Release date? Rumors and more rumors

I was looking for the release date for GranTurisom 4 for PS2, which by all means will be the BEST GAME EVER as you can see from the screen shots

Ebworld is showing the release date as Jan 6, 2004, But it seems kind of weird to release this AFTER the holydays. I heard some rumors about it being released a month early, but the source was kinda of shady.
Has anyone read something as to when it may be released, if so could you post the article. Thanks,

too bad it has been delayed to sometime in 2004.

Nissan had a few PS2s running an Alpha build of GT4 at the IAA

Did a few laps and saw that even in alpha it be darned good. The only problem that I could see was some minor clipping issues. AI was OK and the cars handled nicely.

Am eagerly awaiting it!
