This doesn't seem right....they made the distinction between GTX 295 and GT300 but hopefully they're not confusing them. Earlier rumors said GT216 on a 40nm process with some improvements over GT200/GT206/GT208 in Q2 with GT300 following in Q4 with a new architecture.

Seems early for a new arch imo. I would think this would show up about 3rd qtr 09. The refresh being 1st qtr.

They need to chill the fuck out and let a product stand for a yr or more and just be like the old days how we could go on the same card for 1-2 yrs without having new models every 4 months. The way it's been going, your hardware becomes obsolete or an "older gen" whithin a few months :Q :Q :(

They are always pushing the upgrade treadmill. I'm sure that the 4850s I purchased (two pairs!), will be obsolete within six months, at the going rate.

Just because it seems that way, doesnt mean it is not a good card. Companies should not stop progressing just so your e-ego isnt hurt :p

I'm going to go with the thread consensus on this one and say that they are not referring to the next architecture.

When did we have a GPU that stood the test of time for 2 years? The upgrade cycle has been about 12-18 months since the first Voodoo showed up in 1996. With a refresh cycle at about 6 months past initial release.
