I already know about that. I though you guys were talking about somehow changing the oil between races in long 10 race thingies. The oil is all black and stuff.

Whats the workaround?

car setting saves are saved in a different place than game saves. they're two different files. so if you have a saved config file of a car with fresh oil, when you load the saved config you get fresh oil.

no... i mean you're only racing against 5 cars... my mistake...

as for the handicap... well... i dont like how i'm banging perfect laps and the lead doesn't exactly grow as you would expect it to... other than the endurance races... but i would really like at least 18 cars on the grid... that would be coooool...

that would be cumbersome and counterproductive, since you'd have cars running into you at every corner.

the F1 cars are merciless on the formula gt stage. they'll run into me at every corner.

I used to say that, but then after many months of practice, you learn good entry/exit skill. Exit speed is everything.

No. That is not the issue. Trust me, I don't need any Gran Turismo practice! I can be exiting a turn at nearly the exact time and/or speed as another car. Given my lower weight, higher horsepower, and shorter gearing, I should be able to pass him, or at the very least stay with him. BUT IT DOESN'T WORK. Stupid f'ing game. Mother sh!t, son of an...ass...f#ck!

Excellent game. I got to about 51% and then promptly lost interest though because there was just no way I was going to grind out some of the courses on there - some of the endurance ones are simply unenjoyable...lap after bloody lap in a car that is far faster than any of the others and it's mind numbing beyond belief (I seem to recall on the large oval one I had it setup so that I had a very powerful car and an elastic band to keep my controller pointed to the side and the car would grind the guardrail the entire lap, but still win). I do love racing games though and it's the best I've ever played.

I can't remember GT3 cheating that much (maybe it did, but I can't remmber), but some of the NFS games sure did. The worst offender ever was the original SNES mario kart. I was playing a friend's version of it and one day I simply had to take it out of the nintendo and I whizzed it against the wall, destroying it. It was so enlivening for me.

Triumph, you have full custom tranny? Did you tune it? It took me a long time to realize I could tune most of the car settings, especially the tranny. Image a Stock Viper doing like 212mph, and then I mod it and top out at 168mph. After I learned to tune the tranny right, I'm running 268mph, and no other car in the game can even keep up, and most can't even match the acceleration curve of my cars.

Of course, I generally set them up so that you can get to the top of 6th on the longest straightaway on a track.

This isn't an issue of tuning. In the example I mentioned above there was only a limited amount of tuning done. Two identical cars, except mine has full racing tranny and racing exhaust. Racing tranny also adds a 6th gear, while the stock RX-7 only has 5.

AND IT WILL STILL OUT ACCELERATE ME.

Damn.. I got up to 60% and forgot about the game. Not sure I could pick it back up. Once I switched to manual instead of automatic in the game, I just started blowing away the competition. I lapped the competition countless times on the endurance races.

Try the Vitz race, the Elise trophy, the Zonda stage, and try doing the time trial on the complex circuit.

I'd suggest the Formula GT (all F1 cars), but you've gotta finish all the other stages before it comes up.
