my dad says the one down side to that phone is the way the keypad is arranged. it's very difficult for dialing a phone # with one hand.

I've had AT&T GSM for 3 months now. I started with the Sony/Ericcson t68i, and now I have the Motorola t720. It's a good phone, but it feels a little flimsy. And, the software crashes from time to time.

I have the t720 from verizon also. I love the looks of the phone but the damn thing will "lock up" once or so a week. Its so damn annoying, you have to take out your battery and put it back it to "reset" it. GGRRRRR..... does anyone happen to know if there is an update for this phone to fix it?

That's what happens to me. I'll be talking, and suddenly the screen will go black, I lose the call, and I can't do anything until I remove the battery to reset the phone.

I'm thinking of upgrading my Samsung A400 to a Sony/Ericsson T608 when that phone is available (Sprint PCS 3G/CDMA2000 version of the T68i with bluetooth.) I don't think that version has GSM though...

You should try upgrading the software to latest 2dp release. Your local verizon store should have it. The tech guy at my store said those black screens happen because of some key on the key-pad and he replaced the keypad for me. Software upgrade took 20 mins or so.

I'm on AT&T. I'm sure they can probably do the same thing though. I hope so at least. How do you check what software version you are on currently?

i've read that the sony/ericsson t68 is crap when it comes to reception.

also read on Wireless Advisor forums that AT&T will be switching over to 850Mhz GSM band by the end of the year that is supposed to give better coverage than current 1900Mhz GSM.

I believe T-mobile does because I have GSM through Cingular and when I am in Atlanta or Florida, T-Mobile picks me up on their network.

I think the choices of cell phones in USA are limited. They don't look cool enough. Over in Asia and Europe, there are so many cool looking and also TRI Band phones. I personally love NOKIA. If you looked around, you can get so cool phones from Nokia like the 6610, 6100, 7210 and a few others which are TRI Band. There are also the Siemens and Samsungs where they're TRI band mode.

I don't understand why they don't sell the TRI band phones here in US.

I want to get the Nokia 6610. They're sweeett!!!:sun:

yeah...looks a bit odd...I called a store here for Cingular and they said the phones are only on the west coast (or was it the Carolinas? I was calling about the 3650 and the 3595 and got her responses confused). Either way, nothing here until end-of-year. :(

I want that SPV phone, though. I think Orange in the UK has it right now?

Yep.

You can have your phone on your desk, or up to 30 feet away while you talk on this and sync your address book with this.

Bluetooth is very nice. :)

Its a T-Mobile only phone according to their website. I've even seen some ads for the phone as well...

Yesh... they do. Still not too many Bluetooth + GSM phones yet. Heck, GSM is fairly useless in my area. It's still mostly TDMA/CDMA/PCS. The T720 isn't that great of a phone either. Battery life and reception isn't that great.

Skip a night out at the bar one night and spend that money on the bigger battery for the T720. I use my phone all the time (T720 CDMA, Verizon) , and I charge it maybe three times a week. It's also smart to have a spare battery. Throw the charged battery into your phone, then put the dead one on the charger, repeat when the other battery dies. I don't see the problem, you'll always have a charged battery.
Also, software version 1.2.22.2DP is the latest one I have, and I have yet to experience any crashing whatsoever.
