wow Pgold....you are WAY off here....
This is a team without a clue....where do we begin?
Their lineup should be:
Arenas at the point
Richardson at the 2
Dampier / Foyle - 2 headed center
Murphy at PF
Jamison st SF
Dunleavy off the bench at the SF spot - he is never going to be a PF in the NBA
#1 pick this year off the bench as well
Cheaney off the bench
E.Boykins off the bench
That is the team they should have this year...young, energetic, solid...they were the best rebounding team in the NBA last year....then, the following takes place..
they let Boykins go for nothing, and really made no effort to keep him despite the fact that he was a great spark off the bench for them, and continues to be for the Nuggets...
They get cheap with Arenas and their offer to him, and he bolts - granted, they were somewhat screwed by the NBA's rules about players drafted in the 2nd round, but they could have easily made a more sincere effort to keep him...
They trade Jamison (and Popeye Jones - cap $ only) for Van Excel, who can score but is hardly the guy you want around Richardson and Dunleavy to show them how to play, and he is going to be unhappy because they aren't going to win much, so he will likely be trade bait at thiis year's trading deadline...
Then they draft M.Pietrus, another shooting guard who needs lots of work....this despite the fact that their best remaining player is also a shooting guard...much like the draft before, when they selected Dunleavy even though he basically plays the same spot as Jamison.....
Try explaining any of that.
Who do you think they are going to beat out for a playoff spot anyway?
