hahaha Leeland that is sooo funny.... I had to drive a station wagon in highschool too! A big grey crown vic ltd with red velvet seats! THEN when it broke down, I had to drive a big pink van until it got fixed. Stupid spoiled kids don't know what they got........

Jerboy,

Unless your car has been nicknamed Leadsled or Shagginwagon, or you've had to beg your dad to drive his ford taurus to the prom you just don't know.....learn how to focus or you're straight fvcked once you get to college

are you kidding me? i had to ride a bicycle to school!!! j/k 😀

no, seriously guys, for real, i didnt ride a bicycle to school 😱

oh get off the car thingy. Technically, my car fits under the <10k hood. It's not a good car at all. BTW, my car can be had for under 200 dollars, doesn't run, and makes a funny noise on occassion when I'm sleeping. But technically, it counts as a sub 10k car. hehe.

I rode a bike to school for two years. I was glad to have any car junior year, even if it was a beat up '83 Oldsmobile, which I'm guessing was worth *slightly* less than $10K.

<< Damn, with those grades you're lucky you're still allowed to drive. You need to spend less time packing fudge and blaming something else for your failures and more time studying.

Speaking of "packing" your bags are such, and you're gone.

Oh well I'll put up with my sub $10,000 thingy that has four wheels, four doors and seats and a V6 engine... At least it runs reliably.

I'm pissed at the situation. Its understandable how my parents won't be getting me a new car. They were really sad and upset their beloved son got nasty grades. I had to listen to them scream for hours. I'd rather drive a Bimmer 3 series or MB E320 or Audi and that won't be happening until I have A's in all my classes, but its not the biggest priority right now.

All those time I wasted going to school and getting horrible grades. Even if I got everything I wanted, I'd still feel like crying for the grades I got... 🙁

That's your only rebuttal? Sheesh...

You know, I really hope by now that you're kidding.

If not, that makes me want to puke. Especially "Bimmer." Good god, is that dumb.

Me too, My posts per day is going down, because I abstained from ATOT yesterday(not a single post!), but I'm back on again. oh oh talk about addiction and tolerance. The more I post, the more it takes to achieve the same level of boredom relief. I think I'm suffering from neffing induced Delirium Tremens. I get so tired after killing too much time on ATOT. My parents basically wouldn't ground me from my computer, because they think it is useful for school project.

Seems like its time to haul both my computers to friend's house where I won't have access to it until my grades are up. 🙁 🙁

12-19-01:

I got more bithcing and yelling from my parents today and it dragged for about an hour. Everytime they talk to me, its something bad or related to school in a negative way. The common parental lecture that most teens only half listen to.

Won't a car be a huge waste of energy though? I don't have a car and get around fine on my own two feet and public transportation. If you're really concerned about energy consumption, I assume you'll spend your own money to get a hybrid gas-electric vehicle. "Bimmers" and Audi's certainly aren't the most fuel effecient vehicles you can get.

There's something called "safety" I have to worry about when shopping for cars. Not something I have to worry about with SETI.

It's funny the type of things that teenagers in high school dramatize when they don't have any real problems...

My cousins got a few B's and the rest A's so now they aren't allowed to surf the web, watch tv, play games, or go out.

dont you feel lucky now? 😛

D@mn I'm in college, and I still ride a bike to school. At the beginning of this semester I came up short for books, and really had to beg to get about $30 out of my parents. I really do wonder about how screwed up one has to be when they are whining about not getting a new sportscar, but instead getting a reliable sedan, AS A GIFT! A GIFT! (I couldn't find an appropriate emoticon for sheer exasperated disbelief, go ahead and use your imagination here.)

Hopefully sometime in the future you'll grow some sense, but unfortunately I think it's going to cost you quite a lot.

** random mumbling about sporks...

I don't suppose that you'd actually consider doing your homework and studying a bit instead of bitching and moaning, would you?

When you're a teenager, free food and free housing is a serious hot deal and you don't even know it. Now you're complaining about free cars??!?

You'll have no sympathy from me.

i also ride a BIKE to class. I can't afford a car of my own, not with tuition and books and rent. no shame at all. and you complain about not having a sportscar? spoiled...get a clue..

Hmm... you go to nightclubs, so I'm assuming you're over 18. Do you really spend that much time in the OT threads? Well, I guess you post a lot to be a golden member. Your parents, instead of giving you a curfew, should put a quota to your internet usage. In college my time isn't wasted going out, but rather, being unproductive in other ways.

Dude - you need to get your damn priorities straight! You're wasting time you're not going to get back.

And if you going to a public school school, you're wasting our fvcking tax dollars! If you're going to a private school, you're wasting your parent's fvcking dollars...get the point???

It's people like you who give education a bad rep!

Hey Forever42.. if you were referring to a 'bimmer' as being the incorrect method of abreviating the BMW then your wrong. Beamers are actually used for BMW motorcycles, because they were raced on some Beamer track in Germany a while back. BMW cars are referred to as 'Bimmers'.

If you were expressing sheer disbelief at how spoiled JerBoy is, I apologize.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

JerBoy. So just to clarifiy.. your a boy and you have a physical relationship with a boyfriend? Ok.

As for your grades. If you maybe payed attention in school a bit more, you might get better grades. Some people can't get better grades. Some people can. Hopefully you can try. After getting D's and F's and C's, I think your parents thought that if you weren't putting so much effort into your grades they shouldn't put so much effort into raising so much money into buying you a BMW.

Now with the remark about you being 'grounded' if you can call it that. I think you are exaggerating about how painful this is. What's so bad about going home at 10:00pm, as well as getting a $10,000 car? Do you see people at your school walking home? Their parents don't care enough about them, or can't afford any type of money to spare, even if they had high grades probobly, to give them ANY method of transportation including byclyle or bus. now your getting a $10,000 US Car for abolutely nothing including getting bad grades. You preatty much sat on your butt all semester and you still get rewarded. My my, when your parents 'boot' you from home you won't probobly be able to get into any university and I doubt your parents will pay for your admission price if you decided to enter a community college. They would think you would waste the money on something else, or if you went to class, not pay attention.

How are you going to get a job when you complain that you are being treated unfairly because you slack off? Do you think it will be 'unfair' for you to make minimum wage or less when working at McDonald's for 8 hours straight? Do you think it will be 'unfair' when you have to live in an apartment and eventually sell your car away to pay the bills or other expenses? Finally, do you think it will be 'unfair' that your parents won't help you out because the way you exploit them, saying their horrible because they buy you a $10,000 gift and give you a roof over your head even though your bringing home horrible grades, because you slack off all day in school? Well I think it will be fair.

'Nuff talk.

<< My parents won't be getting me a new car this Xmas(They expect me to drive this less than $10K pintomobile until I get better grades )

<<
Cry me a river...

<< now your getting a $10,000 US Car for abolutely nothing including getting bad grades >>

No I'm not getting another car. I'm stuck with this pintomobile worth less than $10K that my parents got me a bit over a year ago after my first(hand down Buick from my parents) blew a head gasket.

Hhhhmm, there seems to be an abundance of spoiled brats here lately. It's not ATOT's fault - it's your fault for not knowing how to prioritize your time and being lazy.
