Grrr, someone at my apartment complex scratched up my car

Note
Scratches

So I was heading out to church this morning when I saw the note on the windshield. I took it off and didn't pay attention to it. But after church I noticed the scratches. Now the note says it's from 20B but I'm pretty sure it's not. There's a guy in 20C that always flips the bird for no reason. I think he might be mildly retarded. The car was parked right under their kitchen window last night. I tried talking with whoever is in 20B just to be sure it's not them. Otherwise I'm going to have a talk with the guy in 20C and hopefully someone who lives there too. I really don't want to get the police involved or have more damage occur to the car.

UPDATE: Talked with a lady in 20B and said the John on the note was her son but he wouldn't do that. She said the folks living in 20C was a father and 2 sons. Said the father was a drinker and the sons weren't quite right int he head. When I tried to talk to the ones in 20C, they didn't open the door. I could see them inside though. One of the sons told me to go away and I said something "like this" again and I'm reporting it to the cops. He replied "I don't ******* care". Tomorrow morning, I'll be head to the management offices just to document it. Thing is I don't have any proof it's them. Guess the cops can look at the handwriting and what not, though they might not bother with something like this.

WTF does that mean?
Your mouth didn't work and no words came out?
They are deaf and didn't understand you?

Holy shit I would have called the cops instantly.

I don't think talking to them is going to help at all.

I'd alert the management and call the cops ASAP. That's not just some accident, it's clearly malicious intent.

edit: and mention that you feel threatened or that the note was a threat. At least that's how I'd take it.

Write a big FUCK YOU on a piece of paper, wrap the paper around a brick and throw it through the retard's kitchen window.

Keep parking there and keep an eye on your car? It's probably some idiot that comes home and sees you are in "his" spot. I can't tell if the scratches look intentional from the picture, kind of just looks like some people opening their door into your car.

It's not dings like the ones you get from car doors, already have a few of them. It's a deep scratch like from a key. Also it's midway on the diver side door, so I don't see how a another car door would reach there.

call mgmt and maybe the cops.

Otherwise park there and put a camera on it to find who is doing this stuff. Then I can't post what to do after the person is found.

Yeah film it if you can, then you'll have proof.

Wow that's fucked up...
Just to be clear though- that isn't a "reseved" spot, is it? Not saying that it would justify what he did to your car, but that does piss me off when people park in my spot (at my apt we all have 1 reserved spot)

If you're not parked in his reserved spot, then park there again and watch from nearby out of sight with a camcorder in hand.

WTF that looks like a 3rd grader's handwriting.

I think the raccoon who lives behind my building can write better than him too.

Shit like this is why I will never live in a place with a parking lot again. Garage/driveway saves you from the retards.

We had an issue on our old street with guests parking in front of other peoples houses. One of the neighbors (directly across the street) seemed to feel that the spot on the street in front of their house was not for public consumption.

There was a great thread about a similar situation here months ago with Asian women, crap on windshields and cops.

No matter the situation, if you are blessed with a crazy or stupid neighbor, these things can happen.

I was going to ask the same thing. If it was an assigned spot to 20B, the note would at least make a little more sense.

No each apt gets 2 parking spots. There's no assigned parking.

I really think that is the only appropriate thing to do.

lol the guy really is an idiot. Got a note this morning saying if I ring the door bell they would call the cops but it was signed 20D. Too bad I never tried to talk with those in 20D. Guess this removes any doubt on who is responsible. Apparently the guy upstairs got a similar note. I've left a written complaint with the office.
