Yea I know this has been brought up a thousand times! Ive decided to go with either the PAL6035 or the FOP38. I dont mind it being a kinda loud but Ive heard both of these CPUs are like SUPER loud? Im going to O/C a Duron 600 to 1 GIG. So i need a good H/Fan! If I only could hear one first before chooseing one :)

Are both of these so loud it would suck trying to play a game and hear sound from my speakers? I'm ready to buy but just dont know which to get :|

Thanks!

If you buy the Alpha with the fan that they bundle with it, then it might not be as loud. However, many places sell the Alpha with the same 38cfm fan that comes with the FOP38. The 38cfm fan is pretty loud, but you get used to it after a while.

I got a sweet Global Win FOP 32-1 and she took me to the Ghz club. I highly recommend it. Oh, another note, the clip isn't that hard to get on.(I managed to get it on without the rubber feet on the CPU)

if you want maximum cooling go for maximum airflow and maximum surface area
Alpha with 38cfm delta

Neither the Alpha or the globalwin are loud ! Its the delta 38cfm 45db gans that are loud ! The alternatives are as follows :
1) papst 33cfm 42db
2) delta 30cfm 39db
3) ystech 27cfm 35db
4) sunnon 24cfm 34db
5) sunnon 22cfm 34db
You can buy the 30cfm delta, the sunnon and the ystech and the Alpha Pal or pep without fan from www.millisec.com, that way you can choose ecactly which fan you want. Obviously the cooling performance will drop as the cfm drops, but so does the noise ! There was an article about fan performance (i don't remember where though) and as far as i remember, the delta 38cfm gave about 2-3 degrees celsious better cooling than the papst 33cfm and the papst about 1-2 degrees cooler than the ystech.

nice post dakost, I thought about it, but just too lazy to list them all, many options. just try some different fans till you get what suits your needs.

Obviously you can buy the delta 38cfm and an ystech 27 cfm and use the delta at summer and the ystech at winter. This is what i have done. Just unscrew carefully and without moving the heatsink, the alpha screws and substitute the fans.

Im thinking about calling 2cooltek tomorrow and telling talking to somone about my hardware and what im over clocking and see what they would advise. Like dakost said there are a few fan choices to choose from. I might go ahead and get the 38CFM fan and if its to loud I ll just buy another fan.

Thanks Guys!
