I recently moved my comp into my bedroom along with a few large desks.

ever single fscking night I cannot get to sleep because at random intervals up to at most 1min, something in my room emits a loud creak. well, I think several things are creaking actually because if I listen closely for a few minutes, the creaks have different sounds and seem to be coming from different parts of the room.

I've been trying to prevent it lately by shaking the desks and monitors before I get into bed, because if I shake them, they creak a lot for a few seconds and then stop creaking. but when I get into bed, they creak just as much

gah, how can I stop this? anybody have a similar experience?

graphite is a good lubracant, i'm supposing it's all prity-much wood.

also, try tightening down all the screws.

or re-glue if you can.

sounds like it's caused by temperature changes. try to keep the temperature more constant?

it might not be your room temperature either. my monitor creaks after it's shut down after a while.
