Someone is using my email address in spams. I've been getting Email Delivery Subsystem 'email address not found/error' emails back for the last week. Luckly I'm not getting replies to those spams, but some email system thinks that I'm the creator of these spam emails and is sending back notices when that spam has invalid email addresses.

Help... :frown:

Yea, it does.. I'm going to filter emails with certain subject titles out. But I'd still like to find another solution to this..

What do you mean? There's a program on my computer that's doing this? I have Zone Alarm loaded and it hasn't warned me of any abnormal programs trying to access the net.

It has happened at my work also. There is no real solution for email spoofing.

It isn't a trogan. Some ass clown is using your email address as the reply address in the spam he is sending out. If you do a search on the forum you will see there are other people that have fallen victim to this crap also.

does zone alarm warn you when you send out an email?

update your anti virus and run a scan

Do you have a virus scanner?

If so, do a system wide scan.

For you to get bounced emails would they also have to use your email server as well as your email address?

This happened to me last week as well. It was getting pretty bad, then all of a sudden, it just stopped two days ago. I can't explain it. All I can say is, wait it out. <shrug>

Happens. I rely more and more on my AOL email because then I can bitch at AOL and let them deal with the consequences.

My 13-year-old son got quite an education when some porn-scum used his handle. Good way to get in some of that "important talk" while explaining the pix to AOL. Though as usual, he knows more than I do, I think.

I have more experience. I hope.

Right, because he's probably running a custom installation and has installed SMTP.

I was being sarcastic. 99% of people in the world don't have SMTP installed on their computer. Which is why a trojan opening an SMTP relay on your computer is a pretty absurd suggestion.

When you stop using email.

You can switch to another address, can't do much more than that. Be glad you don't run a company, it's bad for your company if spam carries your name, and you can't easily change the address.
