The following short quiz consists of 4 questions and
will tell you whether you are qualified to be a
"professional."

Scroll down for each answer. The questions are NOT
that difficult.

1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?

The correct answer is: Open the refrigerator put in
the giraffe and close the door.

This question tests whether you tend to do simple
things in an overly complicated way.

2. How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?

Open the refrigerator put in the elephant and close
the refrigerator.
Wrong Answer!

Correct Answer: Open the refrigerator, take out the
giraffe, put
in the elephant and close the door.

This tests your ability to think through the
repercussions of your previous actions.

3. The Lion King is hosting an animal conference. All the animals
attend
except one. Which animal does not attend?

Correct Answer: The Elephant. The elephant is in the
refrigerator.
This tests your memory.

OK, even if you did not answer the first three
questions correctly, you still have one more chance to
show your true abilities.

4. There is a river you must cross. But it is
inhabited by crocodiles. How do you manage it?

Correct Answer: You swim across. All the crocodiles
are attending the Animal Meeting. This tests whether
you learn quickly from your mistakes.

I got only #3 right... when it said the river was inhabited by crocs, I thought it meant they were actually there. I was thinking that you should take the elephant out of the fridge and ride it across :p:p:p

BTW, you might want to add some more space between the first question and answer. At 1024x768 I couldn't help but display the answer at the top of the thread early.

definite versus indefinite articles--the quiz cheats.

putting an elephant into a refrigerator isn't bound by anything; therefore, you put an elephant into a refrigerator in the same manner by which you put the giraffe into the fridge or a giraffe into a fridge. If it were "how do you put an elephant into the refrigerator," it would be a different ballgame.

For question three to be worthwhile, question 2 would have to say "the elephant," and it couldn't be hypothetical.

This is more or less an excuse, since I failed the quiz like the idiot i am, but i think they're valid complaints :)

This reminds me of brainwashing tactics. Convince the person that they always think wrong by providing them with absolutely rediculous answers which seem completely acceptable in an illogical sort of way. By introducing enough self-doubt, the person is ripe for programming.

Not that I condonce such practices...
