I was coming out of a parking lot as a guy in a baretta with a bigass wing and summit racing stickers pulled in, but we both stopped in time and avoided the collision. He flipped me off, i gave him a "wtf?" kind of look, and as i started to drive away he gunned it and hit the left rear corner of my car. Nothing serious, but it left a scratch about the size of a half dollar, and when i followed the guy into the parking lot to ask wtf he hit me he denied everything. He said that he had the right of way and that his car didnt touch mine, and started to cuss me out. I would have just let it be had he admitted to doing it, but the guy was such a b@stard, so i got his license plate #s, and now im pondering whether or not to file a report with the police tomorrow and getting the guy to pay for the damage just because he was such an asshat. Should I just let it go or should i make the guy pay for being so stubborn and rude?

If your car sucks forget it. If it's rather new and you care about the dent then do it. It may be more trouble than it's worth b/c his insurance might try to fight it and say it's your fault. With no witnesses you may end up having to pay for it out of your pocket (or your insurance money)

You're an idiot for not calling 911 at that moment and reporting a hit and run.

I didnt see any damage at the time, so i thought it would be pointless to file a report. It was later on that i inspected the area closer and noticed the scratch.

My car does suck, and it has tons of dings and scratches, but im not doing it to get the car fixed. Id do it to teach the guy a lesson. I have a witness, but i dont know how influencial he'll be seeing as he's my best friend.

OK, but you still KNEW you got hit, and INTENTIONALLY to boot. I'd be on the phone in a heartbeat. I mean, if you accidently tapped me at a light and caused no damage, well, sh1t happens and I'd be cool w/it. But if you did to me what this doofus did to you, flip me off and then SPLIT, Mr. Policeman would be lookin' for you!

Did you get the guys plates? Cause then you should call the cops and say that he hit your car and drove away, let him get in trouble.

EDIT: I see that you did get his plates, report him.

If you report it to the police, it's gonna be on your driving record. They won't admit it, but your insurance company will "modify" your premium come next renewal. Just a word of advice.

call the cops, tell them what happen and they will definitely believe your side of the story after seeing what kind of a jerk that arsehole is.

If i wasnt a scrawny little runt i might have considered that. I did yell a few *choice* words about his wing and all the decals on his car as i drove off though

Sorry dude, that sounds jacked. Although from a cops perspective, if the car that hit you has a wing and racing stickers then you're pretty much in the clear. I'd report it.

I would have punched the guy in the face ... However .. that would have been the wrong decision.

File a police report .. and make him pay to fix your car ...

you should report it so that it goes on the record that this foolio does crap like that.
the next time someone reports an incident like that, he'll be in trouble.

in fact, maybe your's will be the second or third report about that driver pulling hit and runs.
