Grr...3 spiders in one night.

These are only harmless wolf spiders, but I know how you guys like to see pictures.

Him looking at me.

From the back.

From the back again.

This was the biggest of the 3 wolf spiders, and I found them all in the span of about 20 min. I was on the floor putting in a PSU and bam I saw the first...grabbed a glass that was dry, and caught him. After I took pics of him, walked out of the room and saw another. Did the same thing with another glass.

After releasing the first one into the front yard, I turned around and saw this one right by the bathroom. I went ahead and released the second before getting him. He was much more active in the glass than the other two, pretty interesting really, and I HATE spiders.

I like the pictures from the back

:music: shake it from the back! sha-sha-shake it from the back...:music:

I hate spiders too. I've killed like 5 or so in the last couple weeks. Really tiny ones...like smaller than a pencil eraser. I don't know what kind they are, but I'm going to have the apt complex come spray my apartment soon.

If they are little ones, yeah, I don't mind killing them...harder to capture and release anyway. But these guys were quite easy to capture and release. Just plopped the glass down on top of them, slid a piece of paper under the glass, picked up from under paper, then tossed them out the door. Maybe they will go kill some pests.

Wolf spiders, although nasty looking, are very good critters to have around.

I had 3 today too. I'm always paranoid that they are brown recluse since I'm up here in Illinois *knock on wood*. It's common for me to have spiders in my room every so often because I have a small whole in my screen window and I usually have the window open. It's warm enough to use the AC now so hopefully that will cut back a bit. 🙁

EDIT: Synthdude screwed up our nice line of wolf avatars. 😀

when you say "harmless," do you really mean harmless or a tongue in cheek way of saying they are death and the minions of the seventh level of hell follow?

*damn spiders* :| 🙁

Wolf spiders are actually very good to have around. They don't harm humans AFAIK and they eat all kinds of other pests you don't want in your house.

I release Huntmen into the garden, but wolf spiders I tend to squash with a boot.

um, I thought wolf spiders give a nasty, painful bite, and in rare cases you get that syndrome where your skin rots away..?

lol, you've been squashing harmless bugs because you thought they had a nasty painful bite that caused your skin to rot away? 😛

No man, they are VERY common, and harmless.

I would imagine it would hurt a bit if they gave you a bite 🙂

Yeah. :shudder;

Those things scare me. Other spiders, I'm okay with, so long as they're not in my bed.
