"lego" is like "kleenex"

people say "box of kleenex" or "kleenexes" all the time even if they're not "kleenex" brand. The name has been bastardized and adopted as a commonplace word.

Would everyone bickering or arguing about the proper pluralization of Lego please realize that it is NEVER appropriate to use an apostrophe for pluralization? Maybe you call them "Lego," maybe "Legos," but everyone can agree that "Lego's" is FUCKING WRONG. STOP IT.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled bickering.

And Kleenex should be very happy with that and milk it for all it's worth.

I got a letter once from the company that makes Rollerblades. The basically chewed me out because the newspaper I worked for use "rollerblading" as a verb in a photo I took of kids skating through the park. The wanted us to instead say "skating on Rollerblade brand inline skates." We would never print a brand name like that, and it was a mistake to use rollerblading like it was a verb in the first place, and we never did it again.

I hope the particular PR flack who felt it necessary to correct us lost his job.

Yeh. I did that.

You can blow me to.

Wow, this thread is pretty awesome.

I haven't played with any lego's in a long time, though they were a lot of fun back in the day... simply spend the time doing other things nowadays ... but when I have kids, I will surely be playing with them.

you have Lego bricks that is not made by Lego in America?

Got a wooden Thomas Train set for the 2 yr old grandson.
Way to big for one person to properly play with it without "proper training" :whiste:

already planning for the 8x8 plywood base setup in a few years. Will rig that on pulleys to store up against the garage ceiling.

I was considering that for my 2yr old but I don't think he has the imagination yet to play with it. Let me know hwo it works out for the grandson.

I play lego's rockband should I grow up too?

We will we will rock you!

trains, legos, papercraft, kid toys, etc... Grow the fuck up, grow a pair, grow some hair on said pair and reclaim your man card. The pussification of the american male is disgustingly visible in these retards. Perhaps I'm overeacting a little, what say you?

I say you are a dick, if people want to play with trains, as lame as I personally think it is then let them. Just because I dont enjoy it doesnt mean I should look down on them for doing something that makes them happy

You assume that kids and adults play with their toys the same way.

Kids fly Star Wars figures around the house, ram them in their pockets, rip the arms off, etc. Adults collect them and keep them nice.

Kids set up train sets, run them fast, wreck them, etc. Adults spend hours being meticulous.

Not the same at all.

Not sure I totally agree with this. If I had a train set, it would take about 10 minutes before I see what I could hit with it without running it off the track. And if it did run off the track that would be a bonus.

And any lego construction is always bound for destruction at some point in short time.

EDIT: You guys need to stop allowing Neckbeard to hijack this thread. Quit stoking the flames.

I disagree. It's a company name, it's like saying "I've got loads of Sonys" rather than "Loads of Sony Stuff" or saying "I like using Apple's" Rather than "I like using Apple products".

The plural of Lego is Lego, like the Plural of Jack Daniels is Jack Daniels.

"I've got a lot of Lego." Or "I play with a lot of Lego Blocks."

You could put 's on the end of Lego if you were referring to something that the company Lego owns, such as "That's Lego's Head Quarters"

we shorten lego block to be lego.

therefore i have 1 lego.

i have 2 legos.

i have a set of legos.

i have a lego set.

see how this works?

I've got a huge box of Micronauts, including a huge Rocket Tubes track in the attic. I might just have to break them out in the living room floor tonight just to thumb my nose at the OP.

I do still build with Lego. Don't know if that counts as playing with it.

A couple of years ago with my children, my wife got us the Eifel Tower in Lego and we built that. A year ago I got the Taj Mahal and I built that one with my children. The next one that I have my eye on is the London Tower Bridge.

The usage of all capital letters in the words STOP, FUCKING, IT, and WRONG imply shouting. You should have exclamation points after those statements mister!
