A lot of people in public office are being awfully quiet. Many would feel like the pot calling the Kettle black and will not speak up because they do not want to be investigated with the same scrutiny.

These type of charges are very hard to prove and get a conviction for. There are so many campaign finance laws that probably every candidate is guilty of some kind of violation.

In the fashion typical of juridprudence here in the U S of A, the Texas courts will start with the latter and make a determination as to the former.

And after DeLay is convicted, I'm sure he will appeal and appeal and appeal (thereby exhibiting still more of the hyprocrisy with which he is filled to the eyeballs). DeLay, if you will recall, is solidly against appeal after appeal after appeal by death row inmates.
