Just because he's been lazy, doesn't mean you should be mean.

The actions of the group are completely justified. Why should this punk slaker get credit for work he didn't do. There is no reason for him to slide through on the coat tails of others. No sympathy at all; however, you are right - we've all had groups like this. I'm glad to see someone not putting up with the sh!t.

tell the prof. they get a 0. similar thing happened to me once3 peopel did crap

Thank god for weed-out classes. People like that didn't survive past the 3rd semester in Engineering. I had many more good groups than bad in my junior and senior year. I don't know if this holds true for all the other majors though, since the engineering department essentially weeded these people out to your departments. 😛

Not when your major is Physics. Then the prof goes nuts if you even hint you're going to switch over to the dark side 😉 At least mine did when one guy hinted he would drop physics for EE 😛

In all the group projects I was in, so far the worst experience comes from when I was a business major. I did most of the work (at least 70%).

The few people I know that left engineering for other degrees are quite hard working. They've told me they left because of the mass amounts of work received wasn't equal to the units earned
