I eat about 4lbs of veggies a week and drink at least 64oz of filtered water a day and, I actually do eat one apple a day 😀 . I wasn't having any trouble till the damn iron pills came along.
I do eat animal protein (seafood, vegetable protein for shakes plus liverz). I had cut out most red meat (gotta have a good steak once and a while), but liver just really kills in when it comes to bioavailability.

Definitely with you on the steak, not so much on the bile salt filter there. It's like anise to me, can't do it. Friend of mine cracked some jokes once about his wife being on the iron pills, her experience was similar I guess. IIRC the resolution involved strong coffee and 4+ mile run.

My wife had issues with anemia. In addition to a supplement, I try to cook a lot with eggs, lentils, and chickpeas. Her bloodwork says it's working.

Do you eat the core though? It's like a Thanksgiving dinner for the average American's gut flora. I've been hearing the every day part might not be good though. Apparently there is enough sugar in many modern apple cultivars to give ya the Wilfred Brimleys!

In my 20's a friend freaked out when I tossed an apple core out the car window (I’m going to get a ticket for littering!). After that I started eating the whole apple, except the stem ofc. I’m a diabetic, so I avoid really sweet and large apples - doing so creates a pretty flat curves, so they make a great midday snack.

I do need to get a lot more exercise, I’m in the worst shape of my life, that doesn't help. My chronic migraines returned a couple of years ago plus Covid have kept me out of the gym. So far, tests indicate that there is something wrong with my bone marrow (not cancer). I may need to see a hematologist at some point - core samples FTW 🙁.

Aw man, I'm sorry Ajay, that Wilfred Brimley joke was in poor taste then. Your diet sounds like what most people strive for, good on ya. I envy your water consuming abilities, for some reason I've always struggled with that.

Core samples? You mean like, that whole 'slice open your thigh, drill a hole into your femur' deal? 😱
