Grounded 5 1/4" Floppy Drives

I have an old 286 with 2 5 1/4" drives in it that are each connected to a screw in the case by a long black wire. I assume this is for some type of grounding. If I take 1 of these drives out and put it in my P133, do I have to figure out how to ground it to my P133's case, or can I just stick it in there and it will work fine? Thanks!

I wouldn't worry about it. It should be grounded just by sticking it into your case - all 4 wires are there on the power connector, aren't they? ... If it makes you feel better, just attach the wire to a mounting screw

Yep, all 4 wires are there on the molex connector. I assumed it would be automatically grounded, I just wanted to make sure. Thanks

a properly designed drive would be grounded via the metal to metal connection of the drive in the bay which is connected to the metal of the power supply which is itself grounded via the 3 prong power cable, as well as the ground via the 4 pin molex power plug.
