Ground beef expired 27th...

I have some minced beef in the fridge that expired on the 27th. It's now the 2st or March. Should I go for it? It has been refrigerated (not frozen) and sealed in plastic.

I'd eat it... though I wouldn't make a rare burger with it.

I'm thinking bolognese. I can really cook the crap out of it. It's the only thing in the fridge and I'm too hungover to go get something from the store.

Its fine, just eat it.
Expiration dates are just a guideline, a conservative date printed on packages so companies don't get sued.

Jesus f'in Christ, people.

I accidentally left a flat of chicken in my car for a full 24 hours. Was I worried about it? Yes.

It passed the smell test, it was still good.

If your fridge is sufficiently cold, meat will last significantly past its sell by date. There is no magical date fairy that makes things go bad on their sell by date.

People are really scared when it comes to food. Many years ago we took a group to Vegas for New Years. We stayed at a place where they had a kitchen, so I made a big pan of Lasagne for everyone. We munched down on that and everyone loved it. The next day we had plenty left over but no one would eat it cause it sat out covered. It could of easily been heated back in the oven and been fine, instead it was thrown away.

1) It's the 28th of February. There is no such thing as reverse leap-year; that was just a rumor. 2) The proper abbreviation for "first" is 1st; for "second" it is 2nd. 3) The meat is fine. 4) Am I missing a joke?
