Grokker - Is It Really Good?

Well, i've been using it for the last 15 mins, and i've got to say that it's SLOW for a search engine. And you have to use the built in browser as well, which is a pain in the ass because it's so slow too.

I'm not too crazy about how the layout works either... when i do a scan, i want my eyes to be able to browse through the titles and the little snippets from the links quickly. I don't want to click all over the place to see what those links are.

I suppose this type of search engine would be good for a large databases, such as in an academic setting. I can definitely see this being useful in those kind of situations (where categories are important). For example, i did a search for "Hordes of the Underdark Walkthrough", and it gave me a bunch of bubbles that are categories. One for Forums, one for Game Reviews, one for Bioware, etc, etc. And each bubble has within it other bubbles that seperates it even more. I wanted a walkthrough, not a review or a picture gallery. Well, even if it did find the results i wanted, i still hated the need to navigate through a bunch of bubbles to just see what the links are to. With google, my eyes just browse over it.

I did a few tests, and on average to find a link in Google took less than 30 secs for me... that includes the search, and opening up a half dozen links to see if they're correct. With Grokker, the search itself took on average 30 secs. Then i had to navigate to the links... and as far as i can tell, i can't open multiple links... i have to use the built in browser... on average it took 2 mins for me to find something

Much too long and cumbersome. But for an academic setting, this would be awesome.
