If you thing grits are nasty or runny you haven't had good home cooked southern style grits.

Things that are great in grits:

Cheese (Blue Cheese is the best, then Asiago, then Cheddar)
Shrimp (or Shrimp and Scallops)
Garlic (Usually best with Cheddar Cheese in there as well)
Butter (lots and lots of REAL butter, none of that margarine crap)
Jalapenos (anything is better with heat)

Anyway, that my opinion, take it for what it is worth (very little).

I love grits. I like it with butter and pepper. Some people use syrup or jelly...lots of different variations. It's just ground up hominy (which is just giant white corn), and it tastes like white rice. Not sure why a lot of people don't like it :confused:

Yep um from the north i just cant im,agine eating it with anything other than sugar cause in guess thats the way i ate them originally. Its like the whole fries and mayonnaise thing, i could never eat that but some people actually like it over ketchup

Thank God I didn't have to eat that crap in the military but I learned to love S. O. S. and still like it to this day. :D
