Grill Drip pan

Did some grill cleaning over the weekend. In general everything still in decent condition, just need to order a new burner set & heat shields which I found relatively cheap. My problem is that the grease drip pan pretty much disintegrated while I was cleaning and a replacement part is no longer available. Any place that sells some generic ones that I can look through to get something close to the size I need? (Don't have numbers with me but original about 25*19)
 
Lots of times you can get one of those disposable aluminum cooking trays to drop in there. A couple bucks at walmart.
 
Cheap grills are designed to disintegrate within short periods of time. Most replacement parts are not available or do not make sense to buy.

And if you don't clean it on regular basis = fire
 
Your request is almost offensively vague.

What's the model of the grill??

Can you take pictures? 'hangs on slots' is not enough to tell you much.


Like others said, some are sized to fit aluminum pans.

Or possibly a cookie sheet cut down.
 
It's roughly a 25"*19" opening, going to take one hell of a soup can.



The narrow sides each have a metal slot that sticks out, about half an inch long and almost the full width of the pan. This allows the pan to sit onto the frame at these hand points.
 
Is it something like this? It's 17 x 25, close enough for your size...

No I can't give a picture or model number at the moment. And as I've already said sears list the part as OOS no replacement available.

And the reason for this is......wait for it.........GET ANOTHER GRILL!!!!

This is exactly why you get a weber to begin with.

better yet, forget about gas grills and just go with much cheaper/long lasting kettle....

But that's just me

The point is - Sears/Kenmore is not the only place that sells replacement parts for their products.
But without the info it's impossible to help you get the correct part from somewhere else. :'(
 
I believe we can all be in agreement that OP is being a dickward, lets change this thread to something more interesting. This thread is not about.....
 
I've searched via the part number listed on the sears site. Brings up several sites that list it but they all say no longer available from the manufacturer.

So you have a problem with realtor fees but will just replace a whole BBQ grill over some sheet metal?

that's what sears wants you to do. then they've got a sucker coming in and buying a $300 grill every 3 or 4 years when some part breaks that has to be backordered from china and only has a production run when the dynasty changes.

solutions: 1) buy a weber and not have to worry about parts availablilty; 2) get a cheap aluminum cookie sheet and bend it to fit; 3) get even cheaper disposable aluminum pan and rig up some redneck support system out of stiff wire
 
Yep, bought the cheap $50 types a couple times that would last about 2 summers each. Then decided to get something better so snagged the kenmore priced at around $450 marked down to about $225. While it needs a new burner and grease tray, structurally it's not in bad shape and while it would be nice to buy a weber that's not really a cost effective move given the limited parts needed for this one to be operational fine. And there are also some people that talk bad about the lower level weber models.

The lower level Weber's are nothing like the high-end models.

I had good luck with Char-Broil grilles even on my uncovered patio (I do use a grille cover which needs replacing about once a year) esp parts availability.

For the amount some spend on silly overly expensive grills for their income level, they'd have been better off with leveraging that in a Jacuzzi or something more fun for their outdoor life and get a basic grill.

That said I know two people with full MAC/Snap On tool box sets, kick ass garages and a $4000 Weber grill.

The kicker is they don't have people over to grill with and they are both just couples and neither of them do anything handy with their tools. The one dude I believe would actually fuck up his car if he attempted an oil change.
