So I'm getting slowly greyer. I'm ok with that. What I'm not ok with is my hair getting more coarse. And WTF - I just found one that's grey on both ends, brown in the middle. Like 4 inches of grey, 3 or 4 inches of brown, then another 4 inches of grey. Make up your mind!

Gray hair is definitely more coarse and wiry. I've only found like three or four in my life so far (31 today), but I color my hair. Who knows how much gray I really have! haha

Have fun, oldie! ;)

I'm at a loss for a decent comeback to that. There's really nowhere to go but down from a pubic hair reference :p

It's superfine - and I don't have my camera here. Otherwise I'd have added it to the OP.

Definitely odd.

*creak*

But I'm only 34! I wish I could blame the grey on the wife & kid, but I was greying before they were around!

I started to get gray in my late 20's. I'm now 54 and 80% gray. Gray hair is definately thinner and coarser. In my mid 30's I had one of those "Bring ya back to life" experiences and a lotta my hair did turn gray overnight.
Don't sweat it. Gray can be classey.

I'm only about 5-10% grey now, but the speed of the grey-ing has picked up since I got married. Picked up a little more with the first kid, and I've got another one due - a boy this time - in about 6 weeks, so I'm really expecting to be totally grey by 40 :p

Oh, standard grey doesn't bother me so much - the coarse stuff and the freakish half-and-half ones are just a little wierd ;)

I got my first gray hairs at about 18. My hair was super short, so for the most part, only I knew they were there, but knowing my family history, I KNEW I would grow a white stripe in the center, just like a skunk...The older I got, the more that stripe turned white...nowdays, (I'm on the + side of 50) I have enough gray everywhere else that the white stripe isn't as obvious as it was, but I know it's still there...

Better than the alternative - balding... that's what's probably on the way for me. Though, knock on wood, I've not even really started thinning yet.

I knew a guy who, in high school, was already bald past his ears... :|

I think all bald men would agree that it is better to have it turn grey rather than fall out ;) You can always dye it!

Yep...I had a boss once (he had like 3 hairs on top of his head) who tried to bust my balls for being so gray...I told him "Fvck you, at least it's hair"..."Oh, BTW" I asked him, "does your barber give you a substantial discount on hair cuts, since there's so little to cut?"
I got sh*t-detail for a week, but it was worth it...;)

Haha - there was a guy at HR Block last week like that - 3 hairs on each side of his head and he was still combing them over
