Hey all... I was out for a bit.

Sorry to say - the trout are all dead. The moron I rented my house to let the stream back-up and it pumped the pond dry. 🙁 :|

edit: You know what REALLY PI$$ES me off about the whole thing? Those trout were upwards of 20-24 inches long! :|

Still haven't done the new pond at this place. We've certainly got the room, but for the one I have in mind - the liner alone would be about $10K. :Q Guess I'll need to find a job huh?

If so... there are no trout. I gave up fishing here. There's a gill-net on the mouth of every river - so there's no steelhead anymore either. :|

Unfortunately you are right about most places being too fished out. If you can't find a place where they are planted and get to them before they are fished out then you are out of luck.
Some of the best trout I've ever eaten came out of lake Constance in the Olympic mountains.

And yes, my little piece of River Frontage is on the upper Snoqualmie river, about a mile up river from the falls.

yeah, that pic is a few years old - hasn't snowed down here at the 421 foot elevation in a long time 🙁

You know there is a group that goes around to the lakes and plants trout here in the northwest, I've always been tempted to join up & help out in the cause.

(imagine that, an organization that carries live fish out into the wild and lets them go in fresh water lakes - pretty cool form of philanthropy eh?)

heh. Yeah - virtually everywhere else the DNR stocks the lakes and rivers with the fees collected from fishing licenses. Here - I think it goes to light rail or something equally noble. :Q

Pretty nasty right now, with all the debris to deal with. But there is a lot more light and it sure stays a lot warmer.
Now if you are talking about somewhere on the gulf coast, I'm in!!! Man I love that gulf!!!

I sure wish they'd get on with whacking that nosebag in Iraq so that SOMETHING, ANYTHING would happen to the economy here.
