I've had a long saga with running and my back not being very happy.

Well I'm finally seeing a chiropractor (uses the pressure not the crack) who has helped my body just feel "right" for the first time in forever! I asked him this week if he thought I could start running again, and he said that I am definitely a candidate.

So I get to go and buy some new runners and start the running process all over again! I'm so excited about this!

Good luck Sealy...I would be so upset if I had to stop running.

Thanks! Yes I was too when I thought I wouldn't be able to anymore. Not that I had any great distances under my belt or anything, but I was training for a 10K (my first big run) about 3 yrs. ago and did a 9K, and my back went out 1 week before the race, so I couldn't do it. Had managed to get back up to 5-8K again, then the back goes...on and on like that.

The Chiro said that I was running when I was broken, so of course it's not going to work!

So I'm crossing my fingers that this time will be different!

Awesome Sealy! Hope the training goes well this time around! :)

I'm out of commission with shin splints at the moment after I overcooked myself last month. I should be able to ease back into running in 2 weeks or so, and I can't wait!

Good job Sealy, that's a smart way to start.

Thanks! I'm not pushing anything!! I had written off running when I thought my back couldn't be fixed, so I'm not going to do anything too fast to chance problems!

I wish I had your reserve. I just kind of dive in headfirst and hope for the best. For example, I'm signed up for a race in a month that will probably kill me. Argh... :)

ps - neat pics at the Golden Spike website. Very authentic looking costumes.

lol thanks, I was a lot like that, but of course that's how I hurt myself the first time, and the 2nd time and the 3rd....only took me 3 tries, but I think I've learned my lesson now!!

Thanks on the pics of us can can girlies :) All handmade dresses, they're beautiful for sure! We have a blast and it's a great work out! I have to go practice now actually as I'm performing for the relay for life next sat. :)

I wish I could run again but my back doesn't seem to want to get better no matter what I do.
